Regular bus and train services link the Gippsland campus with Melbourne and regional towns.
Train and coach services depart from Southern Cross and Flinders Street stations in Melbourne, running hourly on weekdays and less frequently at weekends.
The closest station to Monash is Morwell Station, Old Princes Hwy, on the Traralgon line.
A bus service to the Campus (Route 2 - Churchill) provided by Latrobe Valley Bus Lines runs hourly on weekdays. Buses leave from the bus terminal on the other side of the train-line from the station.
The bus timetable is designed to meet incoming trains from Melbourne. This service travels via Mid Valley Shopping Centre and takes approximately 20 minutes.
On-campus, the bus arrives and departs from the campus bus loop (2B).
Visit Viclink for more information on the timetables for trains and buses.
From regional centres
Buses from the local towns of Morwell, Moe and Traralgon depart from the bus terminals near the train stations in those towns.
For timetables, visit Viclink or contact Latrobe Valley Bus Lines 03 5135 4700.
You can buy V/Line tickets at major train stations, online or phone 136 196.
Bus tickets can be purchased on board the bus.
You can also use the Victorian myki smartcard ticket system on buses in the region, as well as on public metropolitan transport in Melbourne.
To assist students returning to the campus on weekends, Monash University offers a subsidised taxi service to meet the last incoming train (at 9.37 pm) from Melbourne. This service allows students to travel to and from the campus to the Morwell train station for one dollar each way.
Please note that the subsidised taxi service only operates on Sunday nights, and students wishing to use the service must book in advance by calling Churchill Taxis on 03 5122 1000.
