Home to 2,000 on-campus students, 5000 off-campus students and nearly 400 staff, Monash University Gippsland Campus boasts courses, facilities, resources and staff that make it a fantastic place to study and live.
The campus is the only, non-metropolitan campus of Monash University. Located in the Central Gippsland town of Churchill, Victoria, 160km south-east of Melbourne, it is set on 63 hectares of landscaped grounds in the foothills of the picturesque Strzelecki Ranges.
The Gippsland region is a friendly, multicultural and dynamic place to live. Its strong distictive identity offers many lifestyle choices, with modern shopping centres and entertainment facilities, as well as an impressive array of natural wonders.
For learning, the campus has purpose-built facilities of the highest standard, which includes art studios, an 600 seat auditorium, computing laboratories, medical and science laboratories, lecture theatres and a library. Outside class times students can enjoy an art gallery, a bookshop, a golf course, a licenced bistro, or the student lounge. Nearby facilities include a child care centre, gymnasium, and a shopping centre. There are more than 300 fully furnished units available for on-campus living.
Professional support services are available to students and staff, including, a chaplaincy, councelling, disability liaison, language and learning, and nursing. Child care and medical services are available close to the campus.
The campus evolved from the Yallourn Technical School, which opened in 1928.
