Regular bus and train services link the Gippsland campus with Melbourne and regional towns.
Train and coach services depart from Southern Cross and Flinders Street stations in Melbourne, running hourly on weekdays and less frequently at weekends.
The closest station to Monash is Morwell Station, Old Princes Hwy, on the Traralgon line.
This service is provided by Latrobe Valley Bus Lines Route 2 (Churchill) and runs hourly weekdays and provides a direct link between the station and the campus. The bus timetable is designed to meet incoming trains from Melbourne.

Monash University also provides a subsidized shuttle bus from Morwell train station directly to the campus, meeting the two weekday morning trains from Melbourne, 8:37 and 9:24am.
Buses from the local towns of Morwell, Moe and Traralgon depart from the train stations in those towns.

To catch a bus to Churchill or the campus, disembark at Morwell and follow the directions to the bus interchange on Commercial Road - a very short walk from the Morwell station.
On-campus, the bus arrives and departs from the campus bus loop (2B).
You can buy V/Line tickets at major train stations, online or by phone - call 136 196.
Bus tickets: It is recommended to use your Myki but you can purchase a ticket on-board.
You can also use the Victorian myki smartcard ticket system on buses in the region, as well as on public metropolitan transport in Melbourne.
To assist students returning to the campus on weekends, Monash University offers a subsidised $1 taxi service to meet the incoming train (arriving at Morwell at 9.30 pm) from Melbourne.
Please note that the subsidised taxi service only operates on Sunday nights for the 9:30 train, and students wishing to use the service must book in advance by calling Churchill Taxis on 03 5122 1000.
