- A. NAME
- 1. The official title of this club/society is the
Monash University Islamic Society (Gippsland Campus), hereinafter called the
MUIS. MUIS will act in accordance with the Regulations and By-Laws of Monash
University Gippsland Campus Student Union (NUGSU) Inc., and agrees that in any
dispute the Regulations or By-Laws of MUGUS Inc. will take precedence.

- B. OBJECTIVES
- 2. The objectives of the MUIS shall be:
- 2.1 to represent the interest & concerns of
Muslim students from Gippsland campus.
- 2.2 to provide channel of expression from
Muslim
students
- 2.3 to provide & promote for
Muslim students &
the community to liaise with FAMSY & other MUIS bodies regarding the social
activities.

C.
COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT
- 3. The affairs of the MUIS shall be managed by a
Committee, constituted as provided in rule 3.2.
- 3.1 The Committee:-
- 3.1.1 shall control & manage the business &
affairs of the MUIS,
- 3.1.2 perform all such acts & things as appear to
the Committee to be essential for the proper management of the business and
affairs of the MUIS,
- 3.2 The Committee shall comprise the following
elected office bearers/representatives/members:-
- 3.2.1 an executive consisting of President,
Secretary & Treasurer.
- 3.2.2 one general representative from each of the
sub-Committee.
- 3.2.3 one Public Relations officer appointed by
MUIS
- 3.2.4 one Activities officer appointed by MUIS
- 3.2.5 official members:-
- 3.2.4.1 2 members of the staff
- 3.2.4.1.1 may hold positions in the Committee.
- 3.2.4.2 a representative from Community Service

D. PROCEEDINGS OF COMMITTEES
- 4. Committee Meetings
- 4.1 the Committee shall meet monthly and hold
special meetings at the request of the President.
- 4.2 MUIS members may attend each meeting
- 4.2 all apologies to Committee meetings must be
received by the Secretary prior to the commencement of the meeting.
- 4.3 the Committee may establish working parties
or delegate members to carry out its objectives as the need arises.
- 4.4 The President, or in his/her absence, the
Counsellor, shall preside as Chairman at the meeting.
- 4.5 If the President and the Counsellor are
absent from a meeting, the members present shall elect one of their number to
preside as Chairman at the meeting.

E. CUSTODY OF RECORDS
- 5. The official books and documents of the MUIS
shall be in the custody of the President and Secretary
