Staff are given computer accounts and an email address (of the form fistname.lastname@department.monash.edu.au) to enable them to carry out their duties. Standard access consists of an authcate and staffnds accounts as described below.

Consisting of a username and password, this account enables access to a vast range of Monash University resources, including:
Also called a novell account, this allows access to the Novell Directory Services, which includes a personal (home) directory and access to Faculty/Departmental shared storage areas.
Provided on a needs basis and may include the Monash dial-up service; a student-like account; and access to Unix systems.
New staff in the Faculties/Schools will have access requested on their behalf at the time of their employment contract being processed by Gippsland Finance and Resources (GFR).
Management/Administrative staff would normally make such a request for those in non-academic areas of the campus. If in doubt contact your manager/supervisor or ITS.
All requests for computer accounts should be forwarded to ITS on a 'Staff and Postgraduate Computer Access Request' form.
Staff must abide by ITS Policies for use of Technology Services at the university.
