“My involvement in the Co-op Program has developed from my interest in community development and transition issues. I have coordinated transition programs within the School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences (arts) and the Diploma of Tertiary Studies program. In the classroom I currently teach United States Politics, Politics and Society and Global and Regional Studies. My broad research area is the American Civil War. I have written two books on the role of African American Troops in the war. My other areas of research include: Australian prisoners of war, the development of Australian regional communities and the transition of Australian students from High Schools to Universities.”
