“The Co-op Program offered the chance to further my study of IT by giving me the chance to undertake work placement in a relevant role. It will help me increase my work experience while I’m still studying. So far, Co-op has given me a strong support and social network including students within my area of study, as well as a diverse range of students from other disciplines. I have also learnt about the importance of career planning through the fortnightly career workshops. My goal is to become a software engineer. I’m hoping my work placement will give me a greater understanding of the role of IT within an organisation, and the practical application of my skills outside the classroom. I would recommend the Co-op Program because it gives you a chance to extend study beyond the classroom and the opportunity to experience your area of study in real life.”

“I saw Co-op as a great opportunity to get work experience in my chosen field. Since commencing the program I have been able to see various theories in practice in the workforce through my work placement at Baw Baw Shire Council. My goal is to become a computer programmer, and my work placement has given mea better idea of what may lay ahead in my future career. I’d definitely recommend applying for the Co-op Program because it gives you a practical view on the many theories you learn during your studies.”
