Judging Criteria

A major difference to last year is the method used for judging the winners. This year prizes will be awarded based on merit. Faculty judging panels will be required to assess submissions and select winners based on the following basic criteria. Faculties have the opportunity to develop additional criteria to aid this process.

  • Clarity of written content - communicates the value of the research, methodology used and key findings to industry/the community in clear and engaging language appropriate for a lay audience.
  • Logic and flow of ideas presented - effectively profiles a significant research problem/question.
  • Overall presentation and use of visual aids - presents the information in a format that achieves strong, effective visual appeal whilst still complying with general guidelines identified in the proposed poster templates.

If faculties wish to add additional faculty-specific criteria these must be submitted by the end of May so they can be added to the Research Month website students will be accessing to enter the exhibition.
