Publication Time Release Scheme (PTRS)
Call for Applications and Guidelines
The Gippsland Research Committee seeks applications for funding under its
inaugural Publication Time Release Scheme (PTRS). A total of $25,000 is
available for allocation under this scheme in 2008.
Purpose
The
Scheme aims to encourage staff who have completed a research but are
in need of dedicated time to complete write-up for publication in a journal
or research book. This scheme provides a funding of up to $2,500 for
each successful applicant to buy out their time from teaching in Semester
2, 2008.
Eligibility
Applicants should be Gippsland Monash University academic staff members holding
either full-time or fractional (minimum 0.5 FTE) appointments with an expectation
of employment over the duration of the grant.
How to Apply?
A completed and signed PTRS application form must be submitted to the Gippsland
Research Office by Friday 11 July 2008.
Assessment Criteria
Project proposals will be assessed against the following assessment criteria:
- Evidence that research and data collection has been completed;
- Likelihood that a journal paper or book chapter or exhibition will be
completed at the end of semester 2, 2008;
- Likelihood that a journal paper or book chapter will be submitted for
publication by end of year or exhibition opened;
- Support by the Head of School.
Amount of Funding
Funding of up to $2,500 will be provided per project to successful applicants.
Funds under the PTRS must be fully expended by end of 2008.
Reports
Recipients of PTRS funding are required to submit a report at the completion
of the time release period. The report which should include a copy of the submitted
journal paper or research book chapter or exhibition catalogue must be submitted
to Elizabeth.Veno@adm.monash.edu.au
Administration
The PTRS will be administered by the Gippsland Research Committee (GRC).
