A combined Gippsland Campus Student Awards Presentation Night was held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in the Student Union Lounge and included the following awards:
The evening attracted over 200 people, including industry representatives, Monash staff, student award recipients plus their family and friends.
The School of Applied Sciences and Engineering presented a total of 33 awards which included 10 industry sponsored engineering scholarships, 2 SASE/Gippsland Educational Scholarship Fund Honours Scholarships, 18 Academic Excellence Awards and 3 Dean's List Fellowship Awards.

Industry Scholarships
Mr Barry Whitehead, Human Resources Manager, presents the Gippsland Group Training Engineering Scholarship to JOSHUA WILSON.
Professor Sam Adeloju presents the International Power Mitsui Engineering Scholarship to LAI PENG CHUAH.
MICHAEL JOHNSTONE receives the Latrobe City Engineering Scholarship from Mr Michael Edgar, General Manager.
LUKE VAN LAMBAART was awarded the Loy Yang Power Engineering Scholarship by Mr Alan Bullen, Human Resource Manager. Luke also received an Academic Excellence Award for First Year Engineering.
Mr Greg Eagle travelled from Melbourne to present the Monash Energy Engineering Scholarship to JESSIE WAUGH.
TRUenergy Yallourn offered 2 Engineering Scholarships for 2007. Mr Mark Pearson presented the awards to KATE LARRAD and PAUL METLIKOVEC.
VINCENT CORBETT received the Wellington Shire Council Engineering Scholarship from Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lyndon Webb.
GHD Pty Ltd, Morwell Manager, Mr David Clark presented the GHD Engineering Scholarship to LIAM COX. In addition Liam obtained an Academic Excellence Award for Third Year Engineering.
Professor Sam Adeloju presented the inaugural South Gippsland Shire Council 3rd Year Engineering Scholarship to RYAN CARPENTER.
Honours Scholarships
Honours Coordinator, Dr Wendy Wright presented two Gippsland Educational Scholarship Fund/School of Applied Sciences and Engineering Honours Scholarships:
LAURA DAVEY who is conducting research on the production of hexenyl compunds from vegetation
JOANNE ERNEST for study into the use of siRNA to investigate gene expression and infectivity of influenza virus.
