Phillip lectures in Biochemistry and obtained his PhD from the University of Wales College of Medicine for a thesis entitled “Positional cloning and molecular pathology of tuberous sclerosis”. Before coming to Monash in late 2001 he was employed by a Belgian Biotechnology company operating through ANUTECH in the Plant Cell Biology unit within the Research School of Biological Sciences at the Australian National University. Phillip has developed an understanding of a large range of molecular-cellular and biochemical techniques. Phillip also has a role as the school's co-ordinator of the Co-op Program. Gippsland campus science and engineering students may apply for this program that combines practical and relevant work experience with study.
