Safety Gear

If you are enrolled in a unit which is laboratory based (eg. Biology or Chemistry), you will need a lab coat and safety glasses. These can be obtained from the following local business:

  • Ausworkwear and Safety, 39 Elgin Street, Morwell, Ph 5134 1478

Safety glasses can also be obtained via the resource centre (see Eddie Kadir)

Study Gear (Texts and Resources)

Some units have printed materials available for purchase.

Textbooks are available from the Monash University Bookshop - Gippsland Campus branch. The bookshop is located in 1N-108 (beside the prayer room).

Bookshop staff are aware of the titles required for each unit. All you need is a list of the unit codes from your enrolment (eg. Cell Biology has the unit code BIO1722). Textbooks for each unit are listed in the bookshop windows, or see bookshop staff for assistance.

Off-campus students can contact the bookshop by phone on (03) 5122 6310. You can order books over the phone.

Also look out for the second-hand book sales (contact the student union for details).

Other resources

Off-campus students are sent printed materials for each of the units they are enrolled in. In some units, these materials are also available to on-campus students. Printed materials may be purchased from the School of Applied Sciences office, located in 3W-206.

May unit have websites associated with them. Check the unit website index of the School of Applied Science and Engineering's website.

Note that access to student materials on the unit websites may be restricted to those actually enrolled in the unit. Please notify the unit advisor if you find that you have any difficulty accessing web materials.
