Chemistry

Chemistry is at the core of science and enables us to understand and alter the physical world. It is the study of all matter and its interactions

  • The composition, structure and properties and the behavior of substances is studied as part of chemistry.
  • Chemists measure, harness and transform substances for useful applications.
  • Chemistry is central to developments in new materials science, medicine, biotechnology and nanotechnology.

Examples of chemistry in action:
   Manufacture of lifesaving pharmaceutical products
   Solving corrosion problems in metals
Saving a river from industrial pollution
Creating new paints and dyes, new fabrics and polymers
