Resource and Environmental Management

Never before has there been greater demand for skilled graduates to solve existing and emerging environmental problems.

This area of study draws upon a range of science areas and applies a scientific approach to responsible management of the earth’s resources now and into the future.

Graduates will be equipped to step into a career in a multitude of areas including: management of water resources or biodiversity, creation and implementation of new policy directions and hands-on, field-based roles. Prospective employers include: private consultants, resource based companies, government departments and the research sector.

Studying Resource and Environmental Management

Resource and environmental management can be studied as a major or minor is within the Bachelor of Science; or as a minor only in the Associate Degree in Applied Sciences.

Each subject area within the program includes theoretical discussion and an appropriate mix of laboratory analyses, fieldwork and reporting requirements. The regional location allows immediate access to a huge range of environmental sites. Students may choose to support their major or minor with studies in other scientific disciplines including biology, chemistry and statistics.
