Associate Degree in Applied Science
Course descriptionThe course provides students with a broad general science education featuring an emphasis on practical training in applied sciences. This will allow students to develop a wide knowledge base and technical capacity required in a range of workplaces in the public and private sectors. The course will also equip students with skills to write essays and reports, undertake research, solve problems, think critically and communicate ideas effectively. Students will acquire applied skills in three discipline areas of science, providing a foundation for a vocational career in science or for further study. One additional year of full-time study (48 points) will enable graduates to complete the Bachelor of Science degree. Students must complete three minor sequences in science, a level one statistics unit, a level one communication core unit and two science electives.
