Studying science in an Australian university such as Monash has
been a challenging and fulfilling experience. The School of Applied
Sciences and Engineering is supportive and encouraging for many
international students like me. The small science population provides
a unique and close teaching relationship between lecturers and
students, which aids very much in bridging communication and learning.
Support is always available round the clock from the faculty office
manager or from lecturers who are always willing to lend a hand.
The modules and laboratory training are also comprehensive, covering
all aspects of applied sciences, which trains students to become
competent scientists and meets the ever-increasing demand from
the scientific industries.
I must say, Gippsland campus is pretty far from Melbourne, which
usually gives freshmen a sense of isolation, however things do
change once your social circle widens and there is fantastic support
from the orientation leaders and Monash International. For a city
dweller from Singapore, Gippsland provides a whole new insight
towards regional Australian living. The environment is ideal for
studying with a sense of tranquillity in the midst of your busy
timetable.
Monash Gippsland provides a completely different study experience
compared to universities situated in Melbourne. If you are looking
to experience a different type of Australian living and world-class
tertiary education, Monash Gippsland should definitely be on your
list of considerations.
