I decided to study in Australia as I find the greater flexibility provided by the education system preferable to China, particularly when studying a
research PhD. I studied a Master of Science in Sydney and decided to return to Australia as I am familiar with the Australian customs and people and the
quality educational opportunities.
The flexible study environment here allows me to plan and design everything, which benefits my research. The research is in analytical chemistry
concentrating on atomic spectroscopic analysis and involves analyzing environmental samples such as sediments and water.
The Gippsland region provides an ideal location for this research with its major industries and water resources. I prefer to be in a rural area, where
people are more friendly. Living expenses are less than the city, and the environment is safer. The local church organized some activities such as trips
to the beach and invitations to their homes. Studying here has been a very positive experience in many ways.
