Staff Email

All Monash staff receive an email account as part of their computer access, and can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

Access

Staff email is located on a cluster of centrally located servers. There are several methods of access.

The Web Client is accessed by entering the URL mail.monash.edu.au into the location box of a web browser. Staff will be requested to enter their authcate username and password to login. A number of items within email may be personalised. Within the "Options" menu there are several submenus that deal with personal details, message settings, forwarding adresses, and vacation messages. Additionally, a summary is available giving information relating to the account, including quota usage.

Use of IMAP requires the proper settings to be entered into a web browser (Netscape is the Monash standard), as well as an appropriate entry in the Monash mail routing files. School/Departmental support staff would normally assist with setup.

Access is also available via the email tab in the My Monash Portal.

Address

The address format is the same for all staff

firstname.lastname@department.monash.edu.au
e.g. Mary.Citizen@adm.monash.edu.au

Quotas

Individual messages: 10MB
Mailbox (including any folders): 300MB
